OLFers
Im looking for some Korina (White Limba) for a couple flying V projects upcoming... A friend of mine who helped me salvage those 5 apple trees, wouldnt accept any payment for the work he did.. but when he mentioned he would like to use my shop to build a couple of electrics I told him OK and I would find him the wood for the project as well... I talked him into Korina because well V's in Korina are amazing... but hard to find around these parts,,,
So could someone point me in the right direction please>?
Also what other woods would be great for a flying V project IYHO? I would be open to suggestions..
Cheers
and thanks in advance for any input....
Charlie

Done know anything about flying V's.  But try Larry over at Gallery Hardwoods.  He seems to do a lot of buisness with electric bass builders.  I saw a lot of Black Limba used on the basses built with his zoot, not sure about white.  Gilmer Hardwwods may have some as well.

Make sure you also check local wood yards for, y'know, Limba. Yet another name for the same wood.

Over here it's extremely common (have enough quartered limba, white, for about 14 electrics lying around) and relatively cheap. The black stuff (ie, same tree, different figure) is harder to find (read: quasi impossible) and considerably more expensive.

Try Gilmer www.gilmerwood.com. They frequently have solid body blanks out of black or white limba. You might have to call them tough to find the size you need.
