Ken's post of his new Macassar Ebony guitar with Peruvian Walnut neck reminded me that I have some sets of Figured Peruvian Walnut. Peruvian Walnut (Juglans, neotropica) is in the same family as North American Walnut (Juglans nigra) and not to be confused with Brazilian Walnut (Ipe)

Wade I'm home taking a break. My son's and I have the shop area painted including the floor. Office is painted and I just finished laying down a laminate floor in Oak. Looks good if I say so myself. My right hand is throbbing from arthritus so time for some ibuprofen.

Ibuprofen in the #1 drug of choice once you hit 55...even if you're zoot addicted....love that peruvian walnut. I want it. I NEED it.

Sounds like great progress on the shop...trying to wait patiently for ya to reopen.

Bob, my neck wood had a lot of chatoyance. I bet those sets will look great under a good finish. Kind of like a big pillowy satin quilt.

Ken these sets have a lot of chatoyance too. It was the first thing I noticed about this wood. Smells nice when I cut it.
Well I tried to take a nap but evertime I closed my eyes I was building a wall.

Yikes - guess I've got about 45 days left to find out (or enjoy not needing it)
