I had the joy of delivering one of my guitars today. The new owner drove all the way down to Florida from Tennassee to pick it up. I think you can tell his reaction from the picture?

This is what it is all about!! I love my profession!!!

Congrats!

Yeah, I know what that's like. I once had a customer take a train all the way from North Carolina to pick up a guitar here in New England.

Ken, that’s fantastic!

You know, you must be doing it right, when you get that kind of reaction!

Congratulations!

Ken,

there's nothing better than a satisfied customer . . . unless it's one that's so satisfied that they order another guitar on the spot

Well done

Thanks Guys!

He was actually talking about riding home in the back seat and letting his wife drive home while he played the new guitar. I gave them a tour of the shop and briefly showed them how the guitars were constructed. They went home VERY happy and with a healthy stack of my business cards too.

I'm just feeling really good to see the happiness and joy I was able to give someone. It made my whole day.

Congrats Ken,

But beware.

A customers who are overly thrilled with a new guitar tend to be the ones who, after spending time with it, may obsess on little details or other things they decide are a problem (even when frankly, they are not).

A good friend of mine who has had a Vintage retail store for the past 35 years said it well:

"people don't buy a guitar, they buy a dream"

It is pretty difficult (if not impossible) for any luthier to come up to the standard of "dream" and frankly that is another business entirely.

But, with all that said, again congrats.

Yeah, but after the miserable train ride, he took the plane back home...AND, he bought the new guitar its own seat. You can't imagine the looks I got when carrying the thing on the plane and hearing, "I'm sorry Sir, that won't fit in the overhead bin." And I'd say, "No ma'am, it has it's on seat, beside me." It was great fun. Speaking of that guitar, it's lounging for Thanksgiving in a condo at the beach as we speak...and it's having a blast. Hope you are.

Happy Thanksgiving.
