My shop is at 70 degrees and 46 percent as of yesterday.

We had a cold front move through and I'll bet the humidity has dropped a percent at least.

A 6 Mil Plastic sheet on studs and ceiling joists helps a lot in controlling humidity in a shop.

I use a regular humidifier and dehumidifier as needed.

James, in a pinch, I guess your method would work, but your finger may get tired!
