I guess it is a good thing that I am celebrating the anniversary of my birth today.... it happened a LONG time ago The really good thing is that I scored a pair of tickets to see Jethro Tull live in concert on tuesday night. Ian Anderson has been a favorite artist of mine since my teen years. I am old, so he must be ancient! I dont care though, the guy can rock and I like the music he makes. I'm really looking forward to hearing him live for the first time.

Well, it is tuesday night about midnight... I just got home from the Tull concert and it was sold out and packed to the gills. I dont think anyone in the crowd was dissappointed in the awesome concert that was given. Ian played his little parlor guitar in a couple of song, including "Thick as a brick". I didnt realize it, but that song was written by a 12 year old kid. The lead guitar player was playing a strat and could literally wail on it. The thing that impressed me was how old all of them were. I would guess Ian is in his 60's. The lead player looked to be late 60's or early 70's. Awesome concert! Now I can say I have been there, done that, got the t-shirt too :) |

[/QUOTE] I took my 15 year old son to a Little Feat concert in April. I was determined to show him what good music sounds like. He typically listens to grunge metal. I can't stand the crap, guys shreiking lyrics, distorting the only 2 chords they know beyond belief. It was a great concert, so I turn to my son on the way out and say "Well what did you think?" And he says to me "Gee dad, those guys are so OLD!" He's right, they were old... but they still sounded great. |

Ken, Glad you had fun - most of the old-timers still seem to be keeping going. For Tull it won't be to long before Aqualung becomes Ironlung |

There was a time and day when I thought that anyone 50 or older were just ancient. The thought of a 50 year old woman would send chills down my back. Now that I am one of those people, I realize that there is much more to life that I have yet to experience. The age just gives me respect for having gone through the rough times and survived it. Some 50 year old women are just plain HOTT Old rockers can still rock and good new music is hard to find. Thanks for the happy wishes all!

Great B-Day Ken!! Jethro Tull and Ian Anderson are one of my faves as well! It just seems that the songs of that era had more to say than most of what is available today. Glad you had the chance to see it live! Shane |
