Thought I might post this here before I head over to the Mando Cafe... Anyone know where I can get plans for the old Gibson Army/Navy mandolin? Actually, I'd be content with any campfire style, flattop mandolin. I have plans for an "F" style and could lift some of the measurements from that, but I could use some insight to bracing a flattop mando. Thanks.

I believe that is the same as "A" style frame and Stewmac sells those plans.

I have plans for a flattop that I designed a few years back. It has received pretty good reviews and it is easy to build. PM me with you address and I'll send you a copy. It's the busy time of the year so it might take until after the new year for me to get down to Kinkos and make a copy.

Mike, I know how that can be. I drew them up almost a year after I promised them to someone. He had completely forgot about them until they showed up in the mail.

I look forward to seeing your work. The OLF-SJ plans are excellent! Once done, they can go into the OLF catalog.

Rick Turner recently started a thread with some picutres from a course he teaches where they build a modified Army / Navy style mandolin. I don't know if he sells plans though.
