Well, here's a little terz that I started last year. Put it aside for about a year, been dinkin' around on it for a month. It's koa from Doug Kleist, Madagascar RW bindings, Lutz from BobC, I think, Martin neck off ebay. That was a weird one - nearly complete, with fretboard, but no truss rod, so I ordered a TR from Martin, shortened it and tapped it in. All FP, with a lot of great advice from Michael Payne (thanks, Michael!). FB is EIR, bridge is BRW. I had a much smaller BRW bridge, but the sound was just a bit to tinkly, so I added mass with this one, sweetened it up some. This one is for the kids, or my daughter, if I ever get around to building a "boy's" guitar for my son. Prolly be my first electric!

Pat my friend you have done it again - this is one very cool little guitar!!!

And in your usual style the attention to detail is superb.

The shine of the FP is excellent as well.

I am sure that your daughter is going to be very, very pleased and you my friend should be very, very proud!

Hey Pat,

That is a cool little guitar. I have some zircote glued up for one right now! It will be for my son. So thanks for posting so I can get a sense of scale! I love that Koa, even without flame it it looks warm and wonderful!

Beautiful combination of woods and execution. the head stock inlay is great! You have really done a fine job and I don't even know for sure what a terz is.

Thanks for the compliments, everybody! It was really an educational and rewarding project. But then aren't they all?

John, terz is German (one of about three words I know in German) for third. It's a 21.35" scale and is tuned a minor third higher.

I chose the anthurium inlay design because they were one of my mother's favorite flowers.

My thanks again to the OLF. Looking forward to posting the next one when it's done, an EIR dread that will be donated to my daughter's school's annual fundraising auction.

Beautiful in spades, Pat!!! Having built 2 small ones myself, I love these little guitars. The design and execution is spot on...and I really love your FP results...nice!

Do you have any closeup shots of the top with the rosette and top purfling detail?

Here you go. I did this rosette a year ago. It was my first, so it's a little rough. The purfling came from LMI.
