Hi guys, I'm sitting here having my morning coffee. Turned on the computer and found a wireless connection within reach so I thought I'd say hello. My wife and I are enjoying a weekend away by ourselves(she is still asleep)in the mountains. I guess I should come up with some guitar content so here is a pic or two of the current guitar project. This guitar is built from BobC's fabulous "Gem Quality Sapele" and a Carpathian top, also from Bob as is the Snakewood binding. Thanks for looking. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I've had it for a while, I think I got it from Grizzly when they had it on sale. It took about 13 pieces plus three for the rosette. |

John, Totally awesome! You have been holding out on us with this build. Was this a commission? How did the sapele bend? Jeff |

Well I cracked the first try (a tight venetian style) but this one bent ok. I may try the venetian again after a bit of rethinking my method. This is a guitar for the Healdsburg show. |

Looks great John! I've been using some of Bob's snakewood binding on a Cocobolo guitar I am building. Its great stuff. I guess you can't really see it that well in these pictures Josh |

Thanks guys, Yes Bob it's snakewood binding then Pau purf and an inner snakewood purf. When thinned to .060" and a width of about .070" it is very easy to bend, in fact you have to be careful not to overbend it. Josh, that guitar looks very nice, they almost look like twins. |

John Actually it is the front and back of the same guitar. I really like the snakewood purf. I never thought of doing a thick wood purfling like that, but it looks great! ![]() Josh |

A freind of my wife loaned us the use of a condo at Incline Village on the North Shore. It was very nice, we spent most of the time relaxing and reading, walking & talking. I put the heel cap on last night and am just finishing up some trin for that and it'll be ready for finish soon I hope. |
