Hi all

Just wanted to share a thought. I just attended my first meeting and subsequently joined (paid dues to) my local Guitar Society. It was interesting. A few minutes spent discussing upcoming concerts/recitals and then a round robin of each member playing for the others on there own guitars.

Now I'm no real player and these guys were GREAT, so I passed on playing but passed around my latest classical build and each member spend some time with her. It was a dream to here it played by such accomplished players and the feedback I recieved was both instructive(?) and encouraging.

Two members of the society that were in attendance are profesional (full time) builders (David Schramm and David Macias) so of course it was rather intimidating. Needless to say these guys are great and were gentle with my ego while still offering a helping word of advice. I know David Schramm crusises some forms on occcasion (MIMF) Not sure if he does this one. If so Thanx David.

Anyway just wanted to tell this story and say if you haven't joind your local guitar society do so right away. It's a great opportunity to stay informed of local events and to hear some great local talent in a livingroom type setting. As an added bonus you get your guitars into the hands of some really great players. You just can't buy that kind of feedback. Both what they say and what you hear from your guitar in other's hands really is enlightening.

Hi R.C.

I'm in the Same Guitar Society! I've been a member know for a little over a year. Both Dave's are great. They have both taken me under their wing and help me out alot along the way. David Macias is a great luthier that has been published many times in GAL, he's builds Flamenco's for people like Juan Serrano for those that don't know him. Hopefully I'll get to meet you at the next meeting, I missed the last one.

Ed.

Hey Ed

I look forward to meeting you next time around. David S. Did mention your name as another local builder. I'd love to see one of your builds...
