OK,

this is off topic, but does anyone know the tunings for Kurt Farquhar's guitar music dring the King of Queens show. I've heard it enough times to catch my attention and pique my curiosity.
Other forums probably list it, but why wade through there, when I'm already here?

Why do you think it's a different tuning? That's one of those things that's never occurred to me while listening to a song.

When I suspect an alturnititive tunning was used to play a piece I first figure out what key the song is being played in, then figure out which tunning allows the simpelest position moves. I find most performers will use either dorp D, Drop Dd or Drop G. So these are my begining points of refference.

This is to cool. I can't even tell what a guitar is tuned to, and you guys can do all the alternatives. I wish I would have learned to play. That is going to be a task I take up with much vigor in the near future

You just reminded me of something very funny. I learned how to play guitar at 23 or so, and I remember being proud of learning when I was so old. You could be a wimp like me and learn how to play on an electric first.

Stan her is a funny one. I did not learn the fretboard by note in std tunning more less alturnitive tunnings till I was nearly 30. By ear I could tel a note was a half, full or two steps differnt ect. and I had played by ear for so long it was near instintive for me to figure the easest position to play a given note. Then I discoverd Drop D tunning and made my self leard the position for each note on the fretboard for it and several other tunnings. I can read music but I am not a good site reader at all. but I can site read Tabulation. both Std and Nashville tab Most notation sight readers I know say they can hear the music as they read a piece for the first time. I am not so blessed.

We get K of Q daily, twice! That's without cable. Not sure what season it is, I thinks it's recent. The THEME music is standard as I recall. It's the funky FILL music during the show, esp at end of or transitional scenes. Listen to it. It's most definitely cool and different. I'll just sit down w/my guitar and figure it out.

Ijust tried 1/2 step sharping the root of a couple chords, or third. Sounds kinda what I remember hearing. I'll have to play along with it see what I find. (I must learn not to be so lazy-shouldn't be watching tv anyway, I should be doing something else!)

[QUOTE=Terry Stowell] OK,

Terry, do you happen to watch Arthur on PBS with your kids? There seems to be the same music in transitions as well. Same guy?
