Have you tried a body shop supply store? They have most of the stickit type papers in stock for all those DA sanders bodymen use.

I've found a lot of stuff at the one here.

Walt -
The stuff that stewmac sells is in a roll - thats what im after - so i can stick it to the bottom of my radius blocks.

i use somethng cheaper for my radius blocks, but use the gold with the adhesive removed for easing neck heels in the initial set and for resets. the film slides slickly between the body and neck heel.

wish i could offer a cheaper place to obtain it then stew- mac but i've searched in vain as well. has to be one but i've not found it.

I have have looked but have not found. And the stuff you speak of is the best! (I think so anyway). Very pricey around $48 per roll. I bit the bullet and paid the money . 80, 120 ,220, and 320. I use the 320 for fret leveling. Nothing else works as well. 80 and 120 for neck setting. Let me know if you find a cheaper supplier! PLEASE!

It appears the stuff is made by 3M automotive. The mylar backing implys wet sanding, I think. I did see it for $35 a roll at one of the automotive places.

Nelson, I've tried that Grizzly stuff. It's FAR from the 3M paper. Loses it's cut very quickly and loads like nobody's business. That said, it seams to work for the down and dirty stuff but I don't care for it in finer guitar work.

the grizzly stuff is paper backed, not mylar. don't know if the abrasive is similar or not.

Lance...
R.S. Hughes Co is a national supply firm that handles 3M...plus other stuff. I use them out of Sacramento Ca for the 3M Stikit. Check here for a location near you or use their web site to order.

yes, but i think don's link to the autobody store is about $4.00 cheaper, that is unless you go for the 10 x lifetime supply!

If you want it by the sheet in smaller quantities, you can get it from here. You will pay more in the long run though. I think this is the stuff you're talking about.
