Its always fun when you reach the point of stringing one up! All I have left to do is glue down the bridge, after I finish it, cut a nut and saddle and in putting strings on the LS-Coco Om - Finaly!

I did the fretting last night - almost verbatium to Tim McKnights process in the tools section - Thanks Tim for the tips and tricks!

Here are a few more progress pics- hope to post the finished product next week.

Looks good man! How well did you like doing the fretting like that? Are you going to do it that way again? I’m thinking about doing it that way. Are you undercutting the fret tangs?

Colby -
Yes the fretting went well - Ill be doing it this way until I learn to do the semihemispherical fret ends. This is a bound board so yes I under cut the tangs, I have that little fret tang nipper that stewmac sells - worth its weight in gold!
Thanks!

BTW- 5 strips of masking tape are all thats needed to prevent the 1/2 moon dents from a your hammer.LanceK38477.40625

Good Eye John!

Yes it is - Ziricote, Italian top, snakewood appointments and Red Abalone heart purflings and rosette - cant wait to get started in earnest.

Wow, that sounds like a deluxe set of building blocks Lance, I can't wait. I'm building a coco/Redwood version of my Jumbo Parlor (AKA OLF guitar) with Pau purfling spread lavishly around the front back and side edges surrounded with Mad Rosewood bindings and purf strips.

Lance,

Very nice! A beautiful guitar all around. I know the owner will be a happy person when they get their hands on it.

Lance,

One would think you'd change your name to give you something easier to inlay!

It looks beautiful!

Really, really... well, it's really covered up with protective covering. BUT, what I do see poking out looks great!
What are those inlays in the fretboard?

Ok, the last 2 pix just came in. Man, that does look sweet. I really like the headstock and that sapwood along the top binding.

Steve-
Must be that light speed dial up connection you've got

The inlays? Um frets? -- Green Abalone dots?
Thats about it.

I'm afraid you are right!

Har-de-har.

Ok, I guess my glasses prescription needs updating. But in picture #3, the dots look like hollow rings--don't they--a bit? Thought you might have used some exotic tubing. You know, plutonium or some such. But you are right, shots #5&6 really show the dots.

Oh well....
