Anybody arriving at BWI and willing to share a car rental? I am looking at arrizing on Tuesday June 14 at 5:00 pm. If this flight works out I'll depart on Sunday June 19 at 9:05 am. I just hate the thought of spending $200 for a ride to and from the symposium, I'm not planning any side trips so it seems like such a waste of money I could just as easily give to Bob. I'll be staying in the dorms as well.

Hey I just noticed a little change in myself there, I seem to be a little grizzled, but I promise I don't smell bad.

There is going to be an airport shuttle to and from the school. I will need a ride as well.

I am planning to get there on the 15th though. I was told vendors set up on the 15th anyway.

Hey I see that I had the date wrong. Guess I'll change my travel plans. And there is a shuttle? Does anyone know what that schedule might be like? Rick?

Would someone mind swinging by Kansas on the way to pick up this FARM BOY?

Nelson,
If I decide to drive, I can cruise by and pick up a flatlander jayhawk. I'm in Denver

I'm a FLATLAND JAYHAWK only during basketball season.
FLATLAND WILDCAT during football season.

Fly into Baltimore. BWI. The shuttle was a van driven by Rick last time. You sent to him your arrival time and he was waiting by the baggage claim. If I recall correctly, he was wearing an ASIA Symposium Tee Shirt. He may be too busy to drive this time but there should be someone there. The same thing for the ride back to the airport. You may have to sit in the terminal for a few hours because the shuttle will be taking other there as well and they may have earlier flights.

I would rather take the car and keep the guitars safe than fly and ship. But I rather not drive the long drive alone. Anyone possibly interested? I still haven't bought airline tickets just this yet.

I am NOT going to be the shuttle driver this year!

Yes, BWI. If you fly to Dulles or National (sorry, Reagan), you're on your
own and may arrive at the Symposium in time to get back to the airport
for the return flight.

I AM arranging for a company to provide shuttle service on the 15th and
19th, probably 4 - 6 trips each day. Cost to riders will be approx. $10/
trip. It's not free but that's still a good deal.

I'll post shuttle times on the ASIA website AND on the Luthier's Forum
once they are settled. I'm doing my utmost not to strand anyone!

Bob--What driving time do you figure between Denver and ASIA? I remember it taking about 30 hrs. to drive from Aberdeen Proving Ground MA back to Kansas when I was discharged from active duty. There were three of us all with girlfriends and I a new GTO waiting back home so that may have influenced our trip time.

Guess that should read Aberdeen Proving Ground MD (Maryland) rather than MA (Maine). Took a 600 hour machinist course there courtesy of Uncle Sam 30 years ago.

Did Massachusetts (MA) get Maine (ME) back? I thought they dropped that
claim in 1820, under the Missouri (MO) Compromise.

I just can't deal with all these "M" states.

Nelson,

You're a Wildcat fan huh? Keep an eye on one of the new quarterbacks this year, his name is Allen Evridge. I work with his dad. I think they might have some really good up and coming players! It's interesting hearing what the coach tells the players/parents vs. the media.

Cheers!

Sure Neslon,
You probably did the drive, 30 hrs. at 100mph. I really don't know how long the drive should be. I'll check into it. I'll figure 80mph with slowdowns thru cities.

That's enough from the Wildcat section. The Buff's will win the division. I don't know what good it will do though, Texas and Oklahoma are now, consistanly awsome.
Colo. will pay this year for all their problems-they play Miami.

during my brief stay in kansas (ft riley) lo those many years ago the wildcats were more like pussey cats and had to be about just about the worst major college side i ever saw. i think the brigade side i played on might have beaten them, but then we did have an olympic sprinter at halfback.

the k state coed i was going out with was quite a winner though.
