Hi all,

I'm new to the site (very cool site, by the way!). I was wondering if anyone has any good sources for rope binding. I've been looking for a while and can't find anything satisfactory. Hope you can help me. Thanks in advance.

Satisfactory in what way? LMI and Gurian come first to mine.

Gurian if you can swing the $200 minimum. Much cheaper than LMI (about half, IIRC). I think International Violin has some pretty decent prices on this kind of stuff.

If you are interested in making your own, here is a link to a thread on another forum that details the step by step building of a tenor ukulele including the making of roped binding. You have to work your way through it a bit to get to the roped binding part but his method seems to be reasonable.

That is a cool thread, read it twice now. It's funny he obsessed so much about the binding being inside out. His work inside the box isn't exactly meticulous
