I'm doing some restoration work for a customer who has a 1934 National Duolian which needs a case. The tricky part about this is it's a 14 fret instrument, not the typical 12 fret of the era. Does anyone out there know of a case that will fit this properly?

Thanks!

The TKL clasical case fits it pretty nicely (at least it fits a 1929 Duolian ). You just need to put something in the bottom as it is a little deep causing it to rest entirely on the neck rest. I get my cases from GW Musical in Toronto. They are from the same factory that builds the cases for TKL but cheaper. Also a good source for lots of other guitar parts.

just checked my 12 fret '31-'32 duolian in an skb classical case. the fir is snug, but not a perfect match, and with enough room at the headstock end that the 14 fret neck should fit ok. you mich also try national resophonic and see if they will sell one of their cases.

Don

Here is another plug for the TKL classical. I have a 14-fret classical sized steel-string and it fits in the classical case just fine. It still has a little room to spare for the headstock even though it is a 14-fret neck. I also get my cases from GW here in Canada but I'm sure you have a lots TKL suppliers in the States.
