After getting home I had to try to cut some pearl. I took Amy Hopkins beginning and intermediate inlay class and thought I would give it a try. I'm making an inlay for a mandolin fretboard. So here is my first attempt. Anyone who missed ASIA, don't miss it in '07, so many chances to learn so many new techniques!

Thanks guys, it was very satisfying to be able to cut an inlay not worrying if you were doing it right. I can't wait to get this into the fretboard. It will look good I'm sure if I don't hose the routing of the cavity. And Bob, it was really nice meeting you too, I can't wait to show the folks here some the zoot I bought from you! Tracy |

Maybe you'll see it's not as hard as it looks sometimes! Then again for some reason all of my recent pieces seem to look easy, but turn into very complex executions.. Wether it's materials thicknesses, etc.. Competition- bring it on

Thanks Tom! Craig, you have nothing to worry about, TRUST ME! Your work was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. I have no desire to even try to compete, and even if I wanted to, I'm sure I would lose
