Michael I will also add the makers label with a list of the OLF'ers and there contributions, simular to the one I have ready for The OLF guitar. That is if Brock can loosen the glue holding it to his bench. just kidding Brock

That brings up a question about a peghead logo. maybe "OLF" in MOP, maybe use Amaze True type font. What do you think Michael? Do we want one?MichaelP38526.6496759259

I always seem to come in late on these.. Are there any other materials needed? I have just about anything you can think of thats made from spruce, cedar or maple.. PLease ask for something I feel like the cheap guy hiding in the back of the room.

I can do some stuff if needed just tell me what, I do a mortise and tenon block for my guitars and can do that. Or do a lamination on the neck, and get it and the mortise setup and ready to go...

I can put in the truss and some CF rods as well...

I just have to get enough of the shop unpacked to do it

Cheers

A consideration: "OLF" might look a bit too much like "OLP" ("officially licensed product," i.e., cheap stuff) on a headstock. However, "Luthiers Forum" in a pearl script could look mighty appealing.

I bet I could get Andy Depaule to donate The pearl and maybe Craig to cut and inlay it, if he is willing. I don't know this for sure, but I will ask Andy tommarow if everyone agrees that we want a peghed logo. I can do the line art if craig wants or I am sure he would prefer to do it.

As a matter of fact, I dug that out last night and worked on it. I will have it ready to go very soon. I am starting no new projects until this has been passed off to Matt Gage.

I swear...

Michael, I'm willing to donate a K&K Pure Western pickup. My building talents aren't up to the par of the other folks but I'd like to pitch in. Yea or Nea?

I would carve the neck but it won't take priority over my Healdsburg guitars. At the speed we go I probably won't need to worry about that.

My wife and I both like St. Judes alot. I guess I have a small preference. They do a lot of great research.

Either St Jude's or the Jimmy Fund, either one is a great non-profit where most of the dollars sent get to the children's cancer research. If given a choice of one or the other, I'd say let's go for St Jude's. It seems that all of Country Music is behind them too.

When we get more of an idea of value, it would be neat to see if we can involve an auction site such as eBay. I would have to approach them with specifics. I wonder about a homepage ad? They might have some program to facilitate charitable concerns such as this. As for charity preference, they are all good and they all do good work. Where to begin?

Also other charities that are good are feed the children, and the "new"
ONE charity that brad Pitt is pushing. Both go to help starvation across
the world.

I haven't seen anybody jump in and say they'd fret the instrument, so I'll volunteer.

Also...FYI...the 13th Fret OM that I "project managed" had an initial build schedule of about 7-8 months. What with a couple snags (like a fully braced top broken in shipping) it took about 15 months to complete. As for shipping it around, we had a number of voluntary cash contributions to help defray that activity so that might be an avenue to consider from the assembled multitude...possibly those that don't build but enjoy this site.
And do expect Murphy to try and enforce his "law" sometime during the process.

Scratch the ONE campaign. Looks like it is just a petition to pres. Bush
right now. But I think people should check it out and sign it if they want
to. It will petition bush to send more aid to africa ect.
check it out.
