Can't swing a dead cat around over on eBay without hitting a Robert Ruck guitar. Five of 'em up for auction. Just seems wierd.

Ronn,

I don't think you could swing a dead cat with each arm and not hit a Ruck! There are now 6 for sale, and one guy is selling 3 of them. Not much moving with any classicals on ebay. Just bargain hunters I think.

Anyone played a Ruck?

Jeff

Michael,

Thank you for the brief glimpse into the not too distant future. I have cornered the market on old growth AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++ birch plywood, so I am sitting quite nicely. I cut up the Brazilian rosewood to make some nice bending forms and the German spruce is wonderful for lightweight and strong clamping cauls. As a side note, don't - tell - ANYONE, I am sandwiching plywood, bubble wrap, plywood as tops for my highend model! Resonate, powerful, and all the warmth of the fire I built using the Hauser kindling. I love being ahead of the curve!

Jeff

Somehow, I suspect DonW is gonna have something to say about "Swinging a dead cat"!

Hey, I hope no one take offense. I have pets a plenty, and I know from my brief time talking with Michael, that he is a pet person also. I think we were just keeping with the spirit of Ronn's original post and ol' saying. All in jest of course!
By the way,
There's a reason for the surplus of Rucks on eBay. A silent revolution is happening in the field of classical music. Bream, Parkening, Boyd, Williams and Isbin have all discovered the acoustical superiority of plywood spruce plywood and all have traded in their handcrafted acoustics for the bottom of the line Yamaha classic.
Funny you say this but the rock music world is something like that from decade to decade. Seems that (reasonable quality) stuff no one wants will be what some kid uses to record and sell 20 million records with ten years from now then that equipment will be all the rage. Kurt Cobain was a case in point. EVH was another.

Yeah yeah of course I don't condone killing of cats or take any pleasure in seein them expire. It's just an oki expression. Glad I didn't mention bonziakitten.com

Truthfully, cats are one of my favorites. I'd have at least one if it wern't for the leather couch. I don't believe in the declaw thing.
