Anyone know of a good way to kill a static charge on a body. I'm spraying a few bodies right now and the static is making it hard to keep the body clean during spraying.
Thanks

There are ion lamps used when handling powders in tha pharmaceutical industry. They kill the charge on surfaces by shooting charged particles at it. The idea is that the charges cancel each other out. Pretty expensive though, unless you can hire one somewhere.

Jim, what is the level of humidity in your shop. From the excessive static it seems as if your humidity is too low.

Maybe running a humidifier for a while could get it back up and get rid of some of your static problems.

Dave, sorry it took a while to reply. The humidity in my shop is pretty constantly 40% or so. I think I picked up the static while sanding inbetween coats with the body on a sheep skin. I did find yesterday that by touching a wire to the body and the other end to a grounded object that the static will disipate and the guitar wipes clean with a tack rag.
