HI Bob If it was me I would couple it with Walnut, prefeerably not the black walnut, but the browner european stuff, the reason is the two complement each other very well in my opinion, Subtler than something like EIR, but excellant clarity. I bind it in Holly, just because the two look great together. |

I'd look for some equally primo Cocobolo to put that top on. Then it would be bound w/ the curliest maple I could find. I think this would get close to the Red spruce/Braz. rosewood sound, but at a much reduced cost, and possibly more interest visually. Plus, I've yet to build with cocobolo and would welcome the chance. |

petite jumbo, brazilian b/s, great fingerstyle guitar and one from Bourgeois shop is fantastic looks and sound. I will have one in time. Next is 12 fret 000 cuban mahogany |

If you are after a rosewood combination another to consider is Madagascan Rosewood. |

I would build something that I realy like, that I don't currently own. maybe something that was unique( if there is such a thing). The real problem might be to find the back and sides that I wanted. |

Actually I am building my dream guitar. It is BRW with Adi top and bracing. I have more pearl in it than the harbor of some Phillipine islands. This is one that it testing my skills to the limit to see how far I can go. I think this may be my last personal guitar. |

My dream guitar would have to be BRW with some kind of inlay theme of Craig Lavins sea creatures from the deep! With curley koa or maple binding. |

I would want Brazilian/addy, perhaps style 45 or 50. Now, imagine two beautiful sets of figured Brazilian, consecutive slices from the same board, on two different body styles with the same appointments....that would be sweet. I'm thinking a dread and an OM. |

Ok, so you've got this really kickin piece of red spruce. Obviously it's got to be paired with a set of Cuban Mahogany, OOO-18 style 12 fret 24.9". but I'd put parabolic braces front and back and have a great explosive Celtic sound recording guitar. In fact, I think I might just do that! Colin |

One thing I've leaned in another craft where the opportunities for flaws are much fewer than in guitars; you NEVER achieve a flawless product. As your skill level improves and you are able to make things which others may deem "flawless", your capacity to discern flaws improves faster than your ability to avoid or fix them. You never get to "flawless". In fact it seems to grow ever farther away. As for my dream guitar... In a room full of Rosewood, I think Koa rocks! It will sound much like this, a nylon string guitar (non classical) by Laughlin in Canada. I just love this sound. Sounds Like This |
