As many of you know ASIA is working very hard to make a comeback, build their membership, and develop a host of new ideas that will benefit all of us. As many of you know OLF members Bill Moll, Jim Samuel and Brock Poling have very active roles and I am hearing great things about what they have planned.

This is coming at the same time that I have been thinking about trying to gain exposure for the OLF and to grow our community. I think having more luthiers -- certainly some of the well known veterans, but also newer builders --enriches all of our experiences. Consider how much valuable information you have received from other OLF members. I believe this community of sharing is the fuel that is driving the phenomenal quality of hand built instruments today.

I have committed to run 4 half page ads in Guitar maker starting next issue, promoting the OLF and inviting other luthiers to join in. I have shared this idea with a few others on the board via email and PM and they have offered to chip in -- and even suggested that I ask all of you if you would be interested in contributing. The cost is high, but I feel the benefits out weights it.

Again, I see this as a positive step for the OLF community and one that could benefit all of us. If you think it is a good idea, and have a few bucks to spare I would appreciate any support you would be willing to offer.
At 323 members and growing, three bucks a piece would fund the advertisement budget for the year, but I'm fully aware that not all of our members participate and not all would want to contribute.

Thanks

Lance Please count me in, How about if you made it 10 bucks, then you only have to get 1/3rd of the members to contribute, if there is a surplus I am am sure it could be well used on one of the charity initiatives OLF and Yourself have going.

It would be a pleasure to give something back.

Of course I'll help. Check your PayPal.

I sent it to lance@kragenbrinkguitars.com (I wasn't sure if you forgot the "s", without it PayPal says you don't have an account yet)Don A38559.6633680556

Count me in buddy, You better start thinking about some Non-profit documentation soon Lance. Mayhaps one of our resident luthier/Lawyer/Tax adviser's can give some advice about that. Anyway, I'll send ya 10 or 20 bucks as a start. Your gonna have money comin' out your "OLF" ears before long.

That's strange Don. I sent mine without the "s" and it went through fine...

...or not!

Nope, it was stalled. I resent to lance@kragenbrinkguitars.com and it went through. Those tacky little typos can be expensive!!Jerry Hossom38559.6717708333

Lance, I'm a beginner here but the forum has already been worth more to me than $10. My money has been sent via pay pal.

Lance,

PayPal will not accept human plasma as currency. I know, I tried.

So, I went to the local plasma center, gave 'em a few quarts, and walked out with a crisp $10 bill and a slice of orange. I have PayPal'd the $10 to you, but I ate the orange slice.

Dennis

I'm not a builder, but Don Williams turned me onto this site during the time he was building my guitar - and I enthusiastically read it everyday.
So, in honor of, and as a "thank you" for Don's fine work, I'm sending you a donation via Paypal.

(Hmmm, now I have to figure out a way to get one of those "Guitar Maker" magazines.)

Go to http://www.guitarmarker.org and sign up as a member ($55 per year) and you will get a full subscription.

It is a great organization. It is mostly geared toward Luthier's but players and collecters would learn a lot of cool stuff there.

You've got Paypal, pal. Consider it a small tuition contribution for the large amount of knowledge I've recieved on this forum.
