Morning,
I'm machining my first neck and cut the truss rod slot and it looks good. Nice firm fit. I'm using the rod from Allied. From all I've read, I'm assuming that the snug fit is all that's needed to hold it in place. No glue, right??

Thanks,
Ron

I, at the recommendation of others, have been placing a drop of silicon caulk near each end when installing the truss rods. The thought is that is prevents any buzzing or rattling after assembly.

Just keep it off the threads and a little dab 'll do ya.

Lets see what others have to say.

Yup, dab of silicone at each end and at a a couple of points along the rod. It's may not be necessary, but it's called 'insurance'. They say the loudest noise in the world is a rattle in a new car, I reckon it's a buzz in a new guitar!

I appreciate your responses. Think I'll try a dab of silicon.
Thanks,
Ron

I do the same thing, just a dab in a couple places.
