After reading about the recent comments about shipping without a case, wait until you hear this... My movers boxed and picked up everything from our house on Tuesday. Two of the items shipped were my Gurian acoustic, and the first classical I ever made. I was out of the house doing some final out-processing, and my wife was left alone with 6 movers. When I came home later that night, I realized the movers had loaded those 2 guitars on the truck without putting them in the case!!!! Better yet, they weren't even boxed up--just laid on the truck wherever they would fit. No shrinkwrap, no boxes, nothing. I had left the two guitars out of their cases so they could record serial numbers, etc, just in case something happened. Well, they loaded them as is. And to make matters worse, I had my Schramm classical guitar set aside so I could take it with me, and they loaded it on the truck as is. At least the Schramm guitar was in a case. I have no idea whether these guitars will make it or not, but I really hope so. Oh yeah, I did receive an e-mail saying my shipment was sitting in a warehouse in Indianapolis. I can just imagine these 2 guitars sitting on a pile of boxes with no cases. I better start getting estimates together now. John |

Wow, sorry that happened. Maybe, just maybe one of the movers wrapped them in those heavy pads they use. Hopefully! ![]() |

I bet they'll be fine. The obvious fragility of the things will encourage the movers to use more than usual care. Ya know...most of the time, people want to do a good job. Monty |

John, looking on the bright side, you may just get lucky and all will survive the move. I know you must have had a sinking feeling when you discovered it. I would have been sorely tempted to unload and reload. Fingers crossed and Lord, if you care about a sparrow, how about taking care of John's guitars too! Amen. |

Wow, I'm checking e-mail from our hotel lobby in Indiana and just noticed you're back online Bruce. Welcome back! As tough as this entire moving process has been, it made my day to see an old friend back on the forum. Can't wait to get my computer back and rolling again on the forum. I have all kinds of shop setup questions to ask. Cheers! John |
