Tim, I've got the body. The new top is coming to me at some point and after HB I'll get that on and bound. I think Matt has the top but I'm not totally sure about that. If I'm not mistaken he was having some question about the form vs. the plan size. |

The OLF began on August 19 2004. We had no clue that it was more work to work in collaboration, than to individually build a complete guitar. That makes this OLF One Year Anniversary guitar all the more special. Thanks Tim for coming around and relighting the pilot light. Feel free to jump in and update this list below, it's full of holes and needs a few folks to actually complete the unit. As I said this is an old list and you may have been left off. This is many moons old, so remind us, we're all ears. Body John How, bend sides attach head and tail blocks, completing the rim, draw plans for distribution Howard Klepper, install end graft Paul Woolson, install Cfox style linigs, sand rimset to 25' for top, 15' for back. Brock Poling, join Adirondack spruce top, install rosette, cut soundhole. Matt Gage, brace and voice top Don Williams, join back, and brace. Matt Gage and Don Williams, join top to rimset, join back to rimset. Paul Woolson, bind guitar, John How will prebend them if you like. Bob Steidl, furnish bridge blank ship to John Neck Bruce Dickey, layup mahogany, maple, EI rosewood neck blank and bandsaw rough blank to 12 Fret plan. This is at John Kinnairds awaiting the body. Stan Thomison furnished the STewMac Hot Rod truss rod. Keith McKenzie, receive funds to purchase Waverly open back tuners, also purchase truss rod, need five people to donate $32 each. Cost about $160. John Kinnaird, install truss rod, install peghead overlay, cut tenon Bob Steidl, furnish fretboard blank, cut fretboard slots to 24.9 scale, taper, bind with koa, radius fretboard John Kinnaird, install fretboard to neck, final shaping of neck, fit neck to body ___________, install frets, make and install nut. ___________, apply finish to body buff out. Craig Lavin, send neck to Craig for inlay. ___________, apply finish to neck buff out, install tuners Tim McKnight, install neck, level and tweak frets, glue on bridge, make bone saddle, string up Case Terry Hazelton, Cedar Creek Cases, we need a case to ship it around in. Tuners, send 32$ each to Keith McKenzie: Stan Thomison, Gary Cote, Roy Ott, Jimmy Caldwell for a set of Waverlys and truss rod Inlays, Maybe help Craig with associated costs, Costs, John How is spending bucks furnishing sides if the braz doesn't make the schedule, bending sides, drew up plans. We might need to help Brock a bit on the Adirondack top? Terence, if the Braz doesn't make it in a timely fashion, I bet Lance would still appreciate that set.... really. We'll pay the freight for sure.... What a nice thank you present. |

Well much of the "blame" in the long delay can squarely be laid at my feet. When the top needed to be remade I sat on it for far too long. I finally finished it about a month ago and sent it off to Matt Gage for bracing, voicing, etc. Matt and I have talked. There are some questions about his copy of the plan. He is not confident that it is the correct size, and rather than taking a chance and making it to the incorrect size we are faced with 2 choices: 1) Paul W. (? correct me if I am wrong about who has the parts) could send him the rim or the mold so he can make a good tracing to build the top. or 2) Matt could ship the top to Paul and Paul could do the bracing and voicing. (not to load one more thing on your plate, or put you on the spot Paul...  )
So I think it is about choices and getting our project plan back on track. |

Brock, I guess I was confused as to what Matt needed. I could certainly trace the top for him if that will help. I would rather not do the top 1) because it would pretty much take Matt out of the picture and 2)I'm so used to my "unconventional" bracing that I'm not sure I'd do a good job. Matt, get in touch with me and we'll figure out what to do. |

Hi Guys, actually I asked John How to send me the correct profile outline, which he did in a very timely manor, Thanks John. When I compared it to my copy of the planes, I found that the plan I had been given was indeed about 1/4" larger all around than the actual guitar. Now that I have squared that away and have the actual dimensions, I am moving forward and will have the bracing done in a day or two. Paul, have a great trip to healdsrosa. This will be your baby when you get back. I will need your shipping address again when you get a chance. Matt |

I need the spacing between the upper back brace and the waist back brace to be sure the lable fits well. Will someone be sending the guitar to me for lable installation or will I need to send the lable? |

I believe there are only three back braces, so there should be plenty of room in there. |
