Hi Guys,

I'm at the moment trying to decide whether to replace old individual tuners with (more original) friction pegs or the new Steinberger gearless tuners or banjo tuners.

My question is if anyone has used the Steinberger gearless tuners on a steel string.

Also, what is the typical tension on an electric with 12's vs. on a steel string with 12's. I would have thought it would be the same- same string gauge+ same note +/- scale length?

What would your recommendation be?
