I just bought a kit from Martin...yes I'm still that new to the whole thing. I bought it now becase it was the last one they had left like it. My question is: Is it safe to glue up the rim now? Up here in New Hampshire, the humidity is still very high and will be for at least another month to two. The material I'm working with is a laminate macassar ebony. The neck and heel blocks are plywood too. I don't want the sides to sping out of shape, but I also don't want problems with gluing up wood in a humid environment. -Joe |

Its safe - I would hold off on gluing up the back and top plates, but the rims, you could glue them up and get them blocked in some type of form to keep there shape. I started with a Martin Kit D-18, sapele Sitka, I love that guitar! |
