I asked Dave Nichols how much for a set of cocobolo tuners and it is $75 and 6 week wait. Wow!! Me and my partner are trying to start making tuner buttons on our CNC machine, and we will offer them for around $25 or $30 a set and no waiting time! I hope we can make this happen as their seems to be some sort of demand for them. Good luck Ron!

Ron,
It will be a while before we are in production for tuners. It may not ever happen, but we are trying to make it happen. It is not easy to do on a CNC machine as you have to build the right jigs to hold them in place as you cut. We want to offer them for Schallers, Gotoh 510's, and gotoh schaller look-alikes and gotoh minis. It may be a couple of months out at least, so you might want to just order from Nichols for now. Also, we were planning to offer snakewood buttons as one of the first ones. It would save on cost if you sent us the wood and we would have no problem with you doing this once we have it setup. I'll let you know. Thanks for your interest!

Just for information I like the Gotoh Mini Tuners, but my supplier only keeps schaller mini replacement buttons. The schaller Mini buttons fit the Gotoh Mini Tuners.

I see a lot of demand for timber buttons, so if it is feisable for you go for it.

I know Dave Nichols and he is an inlay artist that has a shop in Malone, NY. Bill Nichols has the tuner buttins on his site.

If you get started making the buttons on your CNC machine be sure to make the Gotoh 510 style buttons in a variety of woods. I'm sure you'll quickly establish a customer base for them.

Kevin,
I typed the wrong name, you are correct Bill Nichols, no relation to Dave Nichols. My plan was to offer Gotoh 510 and Schallers first, then the gotoh minis. We will offer them in a large variety of woods, and would even custom make them from any wood that was needed. That is the plan at least, but we are not even sure it can be done. I'm still in wait mode for now. But I will keep everyone updated.
