Isn't that part of the chorus of the great Otis Redding song, "Respect"?

That most of the members are too far away for me ever to meet them at shows. I do hope to meet up with Joshua and Steve when I get to Houston hopefully later in the yea and, I hope to take a trip to Wales in the spring and meet up with Russell.

Mind you I don't like the feelings of inadequacy I get when those guitar pictures are posted by you guys

Other than that I'm with Don.

Colin

Do you actually "live" in Indonesia. I was under the impression that you were temporarily there as part of your work, like Terrance.
Isn't there a tremendous problem with smoke and smog coming up from somewhere in Sumatra?
I have always considered you to be one of the more talented of the group. I have seen the rosettes, there is no hiding that talent

Yes John I'm only in Indonesia, well on a boat off Sumatra doing some seismic survey work. I'll hopefully be back in England in a month or so. I think I posted elswhere on the forum that ther are hundred of forest fires on Sumatra at the moment. The prevailing winds are taking the smoke up towards Malaysia.

I hope I build passably good guitars and lutes and I like to think my way through the process rather than just follow the "Martin" style. I hope I build a similar way to yourself (fully bolted on necks and a lot of parabolic braces). But, when I look at the stuff that you, Steve, Joshua and the rest put together I do realise I have a long way to go. I do like to build slow and steady. But I must admit, I'm quite good at lute roses and French polishing.

Colin

John,

I think what you did (unknowingly! ) was play on a lot of pent-up anger. One of the great things about this forum is just what I said in the other thread. The rules aren't absolutes. This leads to and relies on people excercizing (dare I say it!) good sense! This experiment in democracy (the OLF!), proves my contention!

Regards, Steve Brown
