Lance, a review of the OLF guidelines, rules, goals, ideals, would be good. I can't seem to find them. Does anyone know where they are? TIA bd

I will link back up to them. What we did was to make them available when you "register" You have to "agree" to the terms and rules, but that is the last reference to them. My thinking was that we really shouldn't "need" rules, but apparently, I'm wrong

Ill get them linked back in there proper place at the top of the page asap - along with the great bios I have ready to go!

Such a wise man. And not a bad guitarbuilder either!

Nothing like a little spirited debate to stir passion.

Ever notice how after a storm there may be a few broken branches on the ground, but the air sure does seem clearer and the grass greener.

I was gonna say AMEN but I probably shouldn't, so I'll say:
Nice Thoughts, Bruce.

You could "code" it in Old Man, like this, "Ay men!" Man hasn't changed since he, choose one: 1)evolved 2) was created

This isn't it, this is the hold OLF harmless in case we do something stupid.... which we all agree, you don't have a crystal ball and cannot predict which of us will go wire our own shop incorrectly based on info learned here.... A big 10-4 on the "I ain't responsible for you understanding and doing this stuff."

Now, since this isn't it, maybe it doesn't exist anymore and we'll have to pen new ones. bd

I remember only one of the rules, this one: Be Nice. Beyond that it's a bit fuzzy.

Goals of the OLF, or positive reasons to hang out here

1) Share information regarding the materials, methods of construction, tools, design, and marketing of the acoustic guitar.

2) Build a community of luthiers and others with a keen interest in building acoustic guitar.

3) Share information on the acoustic guitar that would be helpful to others.

4) Build friendships among luthiers that may last a lifetime or beyond. (I still treasure a friendship made in college with an art instructor who died way back in 1981) Check this out, click here.
5) Encourage inexperienced people to attempt building an acoustic guitar.

6) Encourage novice luthiers in continuing to better their skills.

7) Participate in the sharing of ideas, even if it becomes old hat, it's new to many.

8) Show respect for your elder luthiers: Kragenbrink and Poling.

9) Get involved in projects that will help someone other than yourself.

10) Add ideas to this list of ten positive reasons to hang out at the OLF, oh, and be nice.

Ay Men, everything you said. And, I can see why you have so much respect for Stephen, the artist. That is beautiful stuff.
