I promise not to post anymore pix for a while...(I plan to start building another the beginning of Sept) but here's the 12-string that you guys helped so much on with information on bracing, spacing, etc! Thanks again for all the wisdom...I LOVE this forum!

You are doing great Larry! I am just finishing up #10 I think it is, but most have been 6 strings (8 6-strings and 2 guitar-bouzoukis to be exact, I will post pics of the bouzouki soon). I think it is time for something different. Nylon or 12-string I'm thinking. By the way... I wouldn't mind seeing a close up of your logo. It looks kinda cool. Josh |

Thanks Russell, In the words of Madonna..."I want to KEEP my babies"...  But, go they must! I actually have the last 3 out of the 7 almost ready to post...2 of them are in their homes already, and the last is here waiting for the customer to get settled having just moved to FL...I start a "Lefty" in September...hope I don't forget and build it backwards!

Josh, a close-up of the logo is on it's way to me on the CD with the photos of my remaining 3 guitars...I hope to use it on business cards...and by the by, thanks for the post on tuning 10-strings...I've never played with one, but I'm intrigued! Larry |

Lance, the photog buddy of mine is at work on the detail shots...I showed him your site and said, "See, THIS is what I like!"...so he's on it! Remember when you said that if you had 7 fret jobs to do at one time, you'd go nuts? Well, my straightjacket size is 42L!

Sprock...(may I call you Sprock?)...I still am trying to build a 6 for myself! My wife made me sell my Taylors when I started building...(something about a conflict of interests...), and now I don't have a guitar! A 12 would be nice down the road tho...maybe someday I'll have time between the airline and the family...  .

Hi Larry I have the opposite problem, I am a Lefty so constently have to remind myself to do things right handed, I spent several hours doing some inlay on a fingerboard the other day, only to realise I had it upside down, oh well it will look nice on my next personal guitar

Russell, OH NO! That's what I go to bed and dream about at night right now! (Sick, no?  )...And to top it off, the customer decided on a cutaway too so the stakes (and the likelihood that I'll mess it up) are even higher. I guess the question is WWLD?

Also, I forgot a big shout-out to Craig Lavin for the cross inlays...I had no MOP and he came to my rescue quickly and splendidly by cutting them and sending them out to me! Thanks Craig, and enjoy your quiet time this week! |

You may because other people around here call me much worse things... I have one that is mine because it has a notch repair in the top (something to think about)  and you gotta build prototypes right?? I actually gave a prototype away last night to someone who needed a guitar but can't afford one, and my wife tossed in a shirt to boot!!!
How does it sound? and most importantly do you have pictures of the inside bracing?? I'd like to see those... -Paul- |

Hi Sprock, well, I'll dig out the pix (actually they're buried somewhere deep in the C drive)...I think I have a few of the box going together...I'm sure I'll ding something somewhere along the path by accident, so maybe I'll get a guitar for myself that way too! Or, just tell your wife that I really NEED a guitar too, and she may give me one of yours! (I wear an XL in shirts if they're 100% cotton)

Hahahahahaha.... I don't think I could get that one past her, if she knows you can build she won't be buying it... Pretty funny... that made my day... We took a beating on the shirts... She wants to sell them for $35 a pop!!

Well Mark, I didn't build them in the cockpit...(too dry in there!)...but I do think about building alot when the autopilot's on! Seriously, that's when I knew my furniture making days were over...I didn't think about it all the time the way I do luthiery! Now it's guitars only. Hopefully someday, I'll join the ranks of these guys and girls on this forum in terms of craftsmanship...The time off work is nice, and makes up for my being away day and night when I am at work! Thanks for the compliments...now, let's see one of yours!

Larry, Haven't built an acoustic yet. Working on an electric. Just got some beautiful top wood from Bob C (beautifully figured sapele mahogany)Hopefully that will get me in gear! After being in this forum for a little bit now, I think I've been bitten by the bug! I think I'll start with a kit first, then onto my own acoustic. Baby, job and life in general is in my way right now. Winter is coming and I hope to have more time! Mark |

Mark, I understand completely...the airline keeps demanding that I show up, and when I come home I spend 2 days just fitting into regular life! I usually have a week day off when I can hide in the shop til the girls are home from school...that's when the majority of a guitar gets done for me. That BobC is responsible for my sickness too...if not for him I'd not be able to afford to build so often!
