Folks,

When my client, Stephen Bright was here to pick up his guitar yesterday, we shot some videos of each of us playing my 10-string (#8), his new 10-string (#9), and my old 1973 Ramirez 10-string, which Stephen now owns.

I still have to give the overall nod to the Ramirez, but I don't mind admitting that I think my guitars compare favorably.

You'll have to make allowances for my technique -- I did the best I could with no practice for the past several days and no warm-ups. But Stephen is a good player, and I think it shows.

Here's a link to the page where the videos are:

You'll need Apple's QuickTime player to view them. Also, they are high resolution, and have quite large file sizes. If you have a dial-up connection it might choke.

Best,

Michael

Michael,

I can't really hear much difference between the guitars, which of course is a good thing!

Quite an accomplishment!

Superb Michael, I think both your instruments compare very favourably with the Ramirez, which is after all more than twenty years old, I actually give the nod to #9. I'd be proud to own any of them, and even prouder to have built two of them! Dang, just stick #8 in a crate and send it to England.

I'm not going to give any comparisons of the playing.

Colin

By the way you can boast now that your instuments and playing have been transmitted via satellite!

Most impressive! Each has its own distinctive voice. My ears like #9 and the Ramirez equally well. Thanks for contributing to my education. Now I'm going to have to learn much more about 10-strings.
