I have a set of plans from Hana Lima of a Baritone Uke. It is kasha braced. You are welcome to borrow it. I think you could get the dimensions and then brace it in the traditional way if you like.

Brock all I'm looking for is a tracing of the body outline and side width & length so that I can make a pattern and lay it on sets that are too small for acoustics. John Mayes is sending me the other sizes but he doesn't build a baritone.

2 7/8" at heel
3 5/16" at waist
3 7/16" at outside of lower bout
3 3/8 at tail

Hi Bob,

I have a mid-1950s Tempo bari in my collection that is slated for retopping when I get a 'round tuit.

It's pretty typical of the breed I think; 14 frets to the body, 18 frets total, and the following measurements:

Body depth:
Head — 3 inches
Tail — 3-1/4 inches

Body Length — 13-7/8 inches
Upper bout — 7-1/2 inches
Lower bout — 10 inches
Waist — 6-1/2

I can send you a body tracing of this one if you like.

GB, That's a pretty cool website you have there. I've heard good things of your Key Strummers group but I didn't know the man behind them was an OLfer too. Good to have you aboard.

Have you ever though of coming out to the Ukulele and Slack key Institute? It's a long weekend of lessons and music every mid Nov. in Waimea (on the Big Island). Great music and good fun too.

Baritone uke sizes vary slighty much the same as SJ sizes vary.

I've got the MIMF baritone uke/small guitar plans which seem to be just a squeak on the big side so it would probably cover most if not all of your baritone requests. Here are the dimensions from those plans.

Back- lenght 14.25" and lower bout 10.25"

Sides- lenght 22.125" and width 3.5".

find that folks in the islands know of our efforts. We
would really like to make the trip sometime.

I would love to go to the Ukulele and Slack key
Institute and, probably will...some day. I made it to
UGH last year and may be there again this year.
Trips to Hawaii are few and far between on a
teacher's salary.
