This is a 12 fretter on a big body. I sure do like the sound of these kind of guitars.
Body is Honduras Rosewood, binding is koa, top red spruce. There is a spruce tree and a moon on the peghead and then spruce cones for position markers and a little group of cones and a small spruce branch (which somehow looks more like a green feather) at the 12th position. Anyway here are these compressed but not overly fuzzy pics. And I do thank all of you guys that pitched in and helped. You saved my sanity.

Thanks for looking

John

Beautiful John. Could we see a close up of the headstock? Did you do the inlay yourself?

That sure is a pretty guitar John, It sure sweetens up when you get the bridge a little further back into the fat spot doesn't it. I think I build just as many 12 fretters as 14.
Hmmm, my latest is a 13 fretter.

Absolutely beautiful! I would like a close up of the headstock, too.

Thanks very much guys

Bob C the zootman also makes very nice layups that I like to use for purfling lines. (hope you don't mind my mentioning that. Anyway, he made me a black and koa layup that shows up here as a purfling line under the koa binding.

Don A here is the peghead closeup. Koa Spruce tree is you see what I mean and gold pearl moon. I did the inlays.

Bruce the finish is polyester. My last polyester finish, I'm going back to nitro.

I agree. Something about 12 fret guitars that is just sweet.John Kinnaird38594.7445601852

Hey John,

Really like the inlay. I'm doing a similarly themed guitar soon. Adirondack motif as a tribute to my home, family, and heritage. Thanks for sharing your work! It's inspiring!

Is that a Crown mic in the soundhole? I've got one in one of my TaylorsTerry Stowell38594.7985300926

Thanks again guys
Dave I really like the sound. (he said somewhat immodestly) Very sweet but clear.
I'm glad you guys like the inlay. I had some apprehension about that. I liked it but then I am not very objective.
Lance, again let me thank you for your support during my picture anxiety.   In fact the whole group was very supportive. Great place to hang out.

John! Beautiful Slope-D! The Honduran looks gorgeous...makes me glad I have a few boards of it.
Very tastefully done in all the details.

John,
I'm going to break my "one compliment per thread rule," and tell you how much I enjoy your inlay. That moon and spruce tree are really striking. What did you use to make the moon? (No cheese jokes, guys.)

John

Was it a comission for someone ?

My hope is that one day I can get up to your Standard.
