Well besides watching the news about Katrina, I managed to get the shop back in *almost* working order, built some new cabinets with storage and got things organized. Now it's time to buy wood for the next year of builing ![]() Here are some pics of the new space setup: ![]() This is all my clamps put up on the wall, I realized AFTER I did this that I have more upstairs in the office area so I'll have to add onto this (can't have enough clamps). ![]() This is the new stand for the drill press, it's a rockler stand that I added a drawer, and storage space with a door below. It's nice and sturdy and I have a place for all my drilling needs now. ![]() This is the other cabinet that I built for the grinder and the tormek, two drawers, two doors and lots of storage, one side is all shelves inside and the other is open for larger items. It has a glossy top of shellac that I built up over a couple of days to help keep the top nice. ![]() This is my storage rack for bodys and guitars in the white stage, next to that is some tops with rosettes that I keep around (there are two classical tops there too, that are fully braced and waiting on wood from the zootster!!) ![]() Storage space for all the wood, plans, parts and jig pieces. ![]() Needed a place to put my sander so I figured this space was not being used, worked out really nice... So I'm finally just about ready to start building again, I have a photo shoot coming up with a local guy and then once that's done I'm off to start making more guitars.. The kicker is that we have wanted a shop like this for a long long time and now it looks like we might move to Boise before the year is out ![]() Anyway just thought I would share with the *family* ![]() Cheers -Paul- |

Davis, Looks great! Though you might think it's all for naught (if you end up moving) I think it will make packing it all up much easier. |

Man, I'm JEALOUS! At least if I trip over some of the junk scattered about in my shop I don't have ROOM to fall! (It's a safety thing ![]() |

Thanks Guys... I actually came the realization last night that it's *too* much space to be honest, or at least not enough of the right kind. I would like to have more wall space for hanging things, the only tool left is the one from Grizzly. After looking for a while we decided to wait them out, they kind of freaked when we threated to pull our order (they have all the money) and are supposed to be working on getting us one. I think Woolson's right, now that I have everything organized packing will be ALOT easier, Michelle had another interview this morning and the company she was talking to was going to do something one way and in the interview she advised them of a better way. I guess it left them speechless because no one had even thought of it before, so now she has two strong prospects. I figure by the end of the week I'll have the rest of the shop done and then can start working on my new prototypes, I have two guitars to repair before I can get going but they should not take too long. It feels good to have this almost done, before HB I just didn't have time to worry about it and so left it a mess and now I feel like I can methodically start working again.. Cheers -Paul- |

Paul I moved to a new shops at the start of the year, and spent alot of time orgainising it, I'm still tweaking, but I reckon it is worth the time as it makes it much easier to work. Hope things pan out how you want them too. Russell |
