Yes, an ignorant question...

What are the best brands and sets for Reso strings? I've heard you can use regular medium gauge strings, but that there are sets available pre-made for squarenecks...????

Thanks in advance...

Rob Ickes uses D'Addario EJ42s (or did a couple of years ago when I asked him). LouisianaGrey38604.4221990741

Hi Don..

You use 16-56 gauge strings.
Martin sells them as "Bluegrass" stings.
They are nickle plated.
Musician's Friend sells them..or ebay merchants.

I have used D'Addario Flat Tops EFT13 Resophonic Guitar Strings for 8 yrs . Ive tried them all ,..they have great tone and last.

I think they are hands down some of the best Dobro guitar srings out there.

Sounds like I'll have to order some online. Up here in Rhode Island, there aren't exactly a ton of Dobro players around so nobody stocks strings for them. What a joke it is here. It's almost as bad trying to find ukelele strings. A few places carry the standard Martin set, but that's it.
