I took the blue bkgrnd out and replaced it with the wood backgroung. I working on the links and pictures, but it might take a while. I'm doing this on my own with Front Page 2003 and have no idea what the heck I'm doing. But I keep plowing through. Thanks for your imput |

Doug download a copy of Coffee Cup Visual Site Designer, you can use it 10 times before you have to buy a licence. It is a breeze to use and an inexpensive start. go her Coffee Cup |

I think what Shane means is that the "S" is missing or is not the font you expected. Frontpage will let you use any font in your system, but if the viewer doesn't have the same font installed, then the text will be missing, or they will get an odd substitution that doesn't look at all as you intended. Here's an article about web-safe fonts you may find useful. That's a nice clean design. If you can keep it that way as you populate the site, you'll be doing better than most! All of us who monkey with web pages tend to keep embellishing them until the whole thing gets to be like a house of cards swaying in the wind. |

Dennis, I had no idea that some people might not be able to see the treble clef instead of the S. Did you see it? I wonder how many didn't see it. I'll probably want to change it then. Don't want prospective customers seeing something not intended. Thanks for the feedback and the article, I heading there now. Russell, I'll check out visual designer. But I'm now pretty locked into front page. But thanks. |

The coding for a website is just a set of instructions. If your computer cannot find a font, it substitutes so when you get into odd characters, the likelihood of that happening increases. The same goes for plugins etc. although those are easy to get these days. One solution, if you really want to use the treble clef would be to make the name a "picture". In other words, create a jpeg in a program like Photoshop and insert it as a picture. The advantage of this is that at that point you can "play" with the text and create something that appears 3-d, chiseled, transparent, plastic etc. The possibilities are endless. you will, of course, be creating an actual logotype. If I have time today at work, I'll throw something together so you can get an idea of what I mean. What font are you using for the clef and where did you get it? Was it free? The other thing I might play with is reversing one of the tree pics (mirror it). Might look good, might not. I love the center photo though, very striking. Hope this is what you wanted, Steve |

Steve. The font is from microsoft word 2002 and it came with my computer. It's called TtsNote. To get the treble clef, you type a regular Capitalized "O" (letter, not number)in any font, then highlight it and change it to TtsNote. Steve from CT, Thanks for the invite. I had to change the file extension and install it permanently in the font folder. Thanks, Steve |
