I am curious, does anyone know where to get plans for a 12 string jumbo. Taylor guitars started 30 something years ago by making a 12 string jumbo. I am looking for similar plans. Thanks Andy |

i don't know of any plans specifically for a twelve string jumbo. but jumbo plans are offered by lmi i think. i think all you have to do is elongate the headstock, widen the nut/fingerboard, beef up the neck block, bracing and the bridge plate, and ensure you have clearance from the bracing for the pins. strangely enough i have a taylor 450 dread shaped 12 that i picked up along the way, built in the early nineties i believe. i thought they switched over to the jumbo shaped dread after that? |
