   I am getting ready for a purchase of EIR rosewood from India. I import this from Gemwood . I found that thier stuff is the best out there. I have tried others and the quality isn't there.

   Please put EIR in the subject line. The more we get the cheaper the price. It is master grade and the top of the line. At present the price would be about $58 a set, This is in the rough .

Please describe what they call "master grade". Also, is there a minimum order Amount? I assume the $58 price does NOT include ship from you?

   Mater grade has to do with grains per inch and quarter. I have tried a few other suppliers and have been dissapointed. The price is from my place so shipping will be added. The more we get the cheaper. The wood is wet as this is off the mill , the ends are waxed.
     I have seen AAAA with as few as 8 grains per inch to as many as 14. This grade is usuall about 12 - 16 or more . The back are a little more open in they can run to 10 .
   There will be no minimum so if you want 1 set to a dozen let me know. Once the final tally is in I will know the cost .

This is the same place where Bruce did the group buy last year. At the time, there was no master grade available.The lower grades we received were nice stuff so I would expect Gem's master grade to be superb.

John, your description of the Master grade sounds much better than what we received last year.

I would be interested in 2 sets. Hopefully, you'll get a big response so the price can be even lower than $58!

Cool John, what did you build? I built a little tweed deluxe (about 8 or 9 watts) a couple years ago. Ya can really crank it without killing your ears. I built a 3.5 watt amp for my sterio also using a pair of 2A3's also. It is really sweet thru my tractrix modified voice of the theatre cabs and horns. For 3 and a half watts it really cranks. I can hear it over any tool in the shop except the router and the planer.

well I ahve not built it yet., but I got the parts for it. I've got the turret
board done except for a 1k 5w resistor that I'm waiting on.

It is a 18 watt marshall clone powered by 2 12ax7's 2 el34's and a tube
EZ81 rectifier. Gonna be a 1x12 set-up, and should proove to be
everything my shop needs, and way fun to build.

I've always liked the 70's and before fender champs as well so I might
build one of them just for a smaller test amp...ahh who am I kidding I'll
be jamming through the bigger one all the time...

An 18 watt marshal? Could that be the famous bluesbreaker model that clapton made famous is his bluesbreaker era? I'd love to see that circuit if you get a chance to make a copy. Keep us informed.

    Once I have a total number of sets and I can get the deal done I will have a per price to me. There will be shipping from me to you but I will have the here price.
     I will also need payment for the wood before I order as this will be a consideralbe amount. Gemwood is more than fair in the past to me and is willing to work with us.
      The wood will be "green" so you will be needing to dry and process it. If you air dry it takes about 1 year. I have a kiln ( an old refrig and a few light bulbs )

Any idea how long it would be before you recieve the Rosewood?

   Once I know how many sets are in the deal it will take up to 50 days to get here. So if you figure 8 to 10 weeks that will not be to far off the mark.
   Once it gets here I have to clear the order through customs and pay the tarrifs and dock fees. Once you get it you need to dry it .

   This is all to be AAAA grade and higher. It will be in the "ROUGH" and nor dried.
    The sets are bookmatched and marked. Sets are from the same Tree and will be end waxed.
    Once you get them keep them stickered and pressed. This helps to avoid cupping when drying. You want the wood to dry evenly. A light fan will help.
