Lance I am seriously thinking of buying a stationary oscillating belt sander and am wondering about your OLF tool purchase program. When will it be ready and what all will it include? (brands and items, etc.) I would like the purchase to help OLF if possible. John |

I had looked at the Jet and grizzley belt sanders. I think the correct term is an edge sander. But I really want one that oscillates a little up and down and that can be layed out flat at need. |

you didn't but i wasn't too far away. regarding the extrema, they are rather expensive, but any machine which both tilts and oscillates, and has hand wheel adjustments will be. i got their information when i was looking around at upgrading my dust control a while back and rather fancied the machine but it wasn't in the budget at the time. still hopeful though. if you find any others that meet your specs i would appreciate a heads up as i will be looking around again, probably next year. |

Brock, How about this model: Fret Board sander If you listed it already sorry........I will be in the market for one of these machines in the next few months but will have to buy locally because the exchange and shipping would otherwise kill me! This is a great idea though for those in the US and should help out makers and the forum. Good job! Shane |

What's the possibility of group buys for tools, w/ part of the price going to OLF support? Dust collectors, bandsaws, dehumidifiers seem like good candidates. |

Don, It doesn't but a lot of the other ones on the list don't either. For me, oscillating would be nice but is not high priority. Luthiery use on tools is typically sporatic so changes to the table height would allow you to use the entire belt over time. If I were in a production cabinet shop where the machine was going 4 to 6 hours a day it would be more important to me. I know that John is looking for an oscillating machine and this attachement, which is also sold seperatley, may be able to be adapted to other machines. I just thought that since it was specific to luthiery it would be of interest. Shane |
