Hey guys,

So I think I have a fairly good handle on the making/fitting of nuts and saddles. I have seen several instruments with scalloped nuts/saddles and am curious how people accomplish this. Is it as simple as just using a small round file to scallop after everything is fit but before final buffing? I really love the added visual elegance of the effect but am wondering if it affects the longevity of the nut/saddle or substantially alters the tone?

Thanks for you time,
Jeremy
