What do you guys use for cases? I'm trying to find a inexpensive good
quality case for a 000/12 fretter, any suggestion?

I've been buying TKL cases lately. I think the have a lot of bang for the buck. Well made, rugged, and reasonably priced to the luthier. It is my understanding that TKL cuts good deals to luthiers, but I don't have any details. I know a guitar shop owner here who wholesales the 8800's to me for $75 per, about half off of list. The 8800-series is TKL's "Prestige" line.

I looked through their selections. I'm guessing their "Grand Concert" model would come closest? Dunno if that'll fit your needs or not -- should be plenty long enough, though, at 41" overall inside length.

Best,

Michael

I have been TKL but have switched to Access twice the case for less money. I think it compares well wit Cedar Creek just not cutom sized and no options on the material

I have been using TKL but because of the OLF placed an order for the access cases. Now if I can just get them to make a comparison.

I'm waiting with some other guys here for Access cases to come in, and am using Cedar Creek for a custom inside/outside thing...so, I buy a couple of nice looking cases from an Ebay guy, they arrive, and guess what...they're Access cases! They are really nicely done and I got them for $45 each, plus s/h...

Does anyone know of the quality of the case that Grizzly sells? I'm going to Springfield this weekend and would get one if you folks approve of their quality. For a keeper guitar.

Hi Todd! Thought I'd hear from you!    The cases are very nice and I can't wait til our order comes in! I'm still on the hook for the 2 of them if it's still a go...the only thing I can say even slightly negative about the case is that I wish it didn't have the big ol' strap attachment rings...they kind of overpower and spoil the looks of the case somewhat...but a small tradeoff for the quality and price!

I use and sell the TKL cases (actually they come from TKL's supplier). I use the Prestige cases, 9000 series for my guitars. They are the top of the tkl line, arch top, arch back etc. It looks like for the 12 fret model, if you went with the longer body, you have to downgrade to the 8904. Still a good case just not as good as the Prestige. I make my 12 fret 000 with the same body size as the 14 fret so it fits in the 000 case. I've thought about checking out the prsestige cases but I am not convinced they are better than the TKL cases. Everyone seems to compare them with the pristige or premier cases from TKL which are there bottom of the line cases.arvey38664.5515740741

isn't the 9100 the Clasical case. I wouldn't think an OM would fit in that. Funny though. I've had customers coment that they really like the handle on the TKL cases.arvey38664.5528472222

The Access cases are great. For the price, they are really a no brainer. It's one of those "how do they make them for this price?" things.

Their customer service is also extremely good. I received a set of four cases from them that had a problem --- their manufacturer had used in inappropriate adhesive for a shipment, and Access had rejected them. One box apparently slipped through, though, and I got it. It had a bit of spider-web-like stuff inside from the glue, and a strange smell. I contacted Access, and they replacement set of cases arrived within 48 hours. It was a real pleasure to deal with them.

The issue of horrendous odor isn't unique to the Access cases...the four custom Cedar Creeks I ordered a while back all had it too....left 'em open in the house for a day or two and they were okay.

I just ordered 4 more AC5SA21 cases should ship the 5th or 6th of next month. I only need 2 more, plus what I have in stock to get me through all the orders I have through May. So if any one is interested in 1 or 2 I will let them have them at cost + shipping & insurance or you can come to Odessa and pick it up in person and save the shipping

PM me if interestedMichaelP38664.634837963
