Well I just spent an enjoyable 4 hr's or so with JJ. He brought along his walnut parlor which I fell in love with. Great sounding and playing guitar. He also had a black laquered Strat he built for his brother. Awesome finish on this black beauty. We spent some time in my shop and JJ browsed thru some sets. Then my wonderful wife made us lunch and we talked shop for a while, played the parlor a bit and had a beer. It was a great time and I look forward to our next meeting. I'm hoping to meet more forum memebers at our first annual get together.
Cheers

My 2nd visit to the Zootman was even more impressive than the first!

Bob...Thanks so much for the fine hospitality and a special thanks to your special wife for making lunch.

Soooo...there I was in Bob's shop shuffling through his sets when I came across his Honduran Rosewood stash that sounded almost chrystalline as I tapped it. I never heard anything so pure. Realizing that Johnny Cool already had one reserved, I selected my own set. This stuff is so beautifully quarter-sawn...I highly recommend it! In addition I got a superb figured redwood top.

Bob's new Laguna re-saw set up is impressive. So then he took me to the "Zoot Cave" where he keeps his stash of billets and planks and stuff that is on the re-saw list. The Zoot cave is a garage that now houses wood of a score of various species. It's sort of like looking at the coming attractions for the next few months. Everything imaginable! I see many temptations on the horizon for 2006.

So, in addition to being thankful for all of our family blessings, lets give a special thanks that we have the Zootman in our lives. I'm already looking forward to my 3rd trip to Buffalo in 2006!

JJ your welcome my friend. Maybe we can hook up this summer at the OLF get together. JJ I think you took John How's set of Honduran RW by mistake.

Dave your welcome anytime too. That Hon RW is awesome stuff but a bear to re-saw.

I don't dare visit Bob. Well at least not with a check book at hand or a credit card that isn't maxed out.

Have I missed something? OLF get together?

Zootman, I see a family ski trip to Elicottville in my future (especially after the last couple of days) and have been eyeing your website for sometime.

Don you havn't missed anything. I'm just thinking ahead and out loud. We talked about this last year but too many people had other guitar related committments. Hopefully we can pull it off this summer. Stay tuned as I'm sure Lance or Brock will be talking about come spring.
