While bending the inside curve(the tight curve) of the cutaway for a benedetto style cutaway, i noticed a very small crack in one of the curls... Its not through the whole side, its just so that you can see it coming on one edge of the side. Is there a way to fix this so i can finish bending or is the side scrap? Im thinkig, is there a glue that can resist the heat from the iron without getting soft? The side is euro maple and its ca 1.6 mm thick.

This happened to me a couple of times when bending curly maple. The cracks always occur where the curls are. When this happens to me, I flood the crack with a thin cyanoacrylate glue, let it cure, then complete the bend very carefully. I use wood blocks to help me bend the side around the bending iron so I don't over stress the area with the crack. Make sure you support the side with a piece of sheet metal too.

Thanks Ray. I was just using two thim maple veneers to "trap" the moisture and keep the wood from getting stains from the iron. I'll test using the wood block today. Thanks!

I'm not sure if this is what you were asking but if you are looking for a glue that will stand up to the rebend, it needs to be waterproof, I use just Normal Waterproof PVA.
