I'm still working on the finish details such as motor tuning, axis tuning and dust collection. I'll post pictures of the electronics in a day or two.
Well the final cost for me was about $1385.00 with the Mach3 control software (it's fantastic!), the electronics were the most expensive items.
3-640oz steppers & 3-gecko 202 drivers $700 (I could have used 260oz motor with controllers for $350 from xylotex)
1 Bob Campbell Designs combo board $250 (a simple opto isolator board costs only $25)
Home built powersupply $100
Mach3 controller Software $150 (free alternitive is Turbcnc)
I'm currently using free cad software from Alibre express.
Case free.
Wire & Misc. connectors $60
Lumber, Bearings,and rail $125
Bottom line $1385.00 (not real cheap but less than $5K-$15K!)
If I used the alternate motor and drivers along with a simple opto isolator board I would of save a considerable amount of money, it would of cost only $810.00 but I wanted to be ready to expand down the line. After I get proficient with this machine and software I'll design a better machine and cnc it out of aluminum and use the same electronics.
Now I just have to learn how to use it. I've started to design parts already but it is a bit difficult. I need to get some more g-code samples to try out on my machine I haven't had too much luck locating anything on the net. I also need to buy some small endmills to use on the machine. I'll continue to keep you all updated on my progress.

You are giving me the CNC bug and I'm out of space. Any chance you could throw a mattress on one of these and call it a day bed? Then I could take over the den as well.
