Hello all
I am looking for plans for a small body guitar....Smaller than OM/000
Maybe a parlor etc.
Anyone know where I might find one

There are John How's plans for a jumbo parlor in the guitar project (the gift for Lance). There's a link at the top of the screen.

Perhaps John can comment on whether he minds people using these plans? It looks like a nice little guitar.

Also the GAL sells a plan for a 1918 (I believe) Martin #1. It's a bit smaller than a single 0, and a sweet little guitar.

They can be reached at:
www.luth.org

Good luck,
Steve

I could probably score up a pretty good start to an 0-12 for you. Not plans per se, but a body tracing, bracing info, side tracing, etc.

let me know if you are interested in them.

Elderly Instruments has a small concert plan (0-size 12 fret) and a 3/4 size plan (size 5), $6.20 each.

The GAL's Instrument Plan #6 '20s Gibson L-O Guitar is a "different" looking small body shape. The GAL website has a reduced-size pic available for you to preview it. The plan uses a funky top bracing, so I'd just use the basic guitar shape & adapt an X-bracing design to use. Also, the plan's scale is 24.25". Again, I'd suggest modifying this & use another Gibson scale ... 24.75". It's a really cool body shape, check it out.

Thanks

What is a Martin 2 or a Size 5 plan?
How does this differ from a 00....

The plans for my Jumbo Parlor are being prepared for OLF distribution I think. Michael Payne is doing that and they will be available from the OLF plans library. At least I think that is true.

I build a guitar that I call a Fatboy guitar, because it's a bit short and fat. It has a 12" upper bout, and a 15-1/2" lower bout with a 24.25 scale. It's loosely based upon an old Chicago-made Regal guitar. That is the guitar that's pictured here in my avatar!
Plans for it are available on the MIMForum. Mark Swanson38678.9599074074
