Does anybody have a good website or resource for buying a boxfan? I'd like to get a furnace type fan to build a downdraft table, and I can't seem to find a good resource with a lot of choices. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers! John |

John, Box fans, them big (20 inch or so by 20 inch by 6 inch) fans that I use to dry wood are availble from Wal-mart, cheap. Furnace fans (rat cages as they are know in these parts) can be found at furnace repair/replacement companies. In small communities like mine, the local dump has a seperate area where metal items are thrown and is a great source for washing machine motors, fans, lots of metal bits, springs, etc. Second stores are good also. For a downdraft table I would make sure that your design keeps dust away from the motor or ensure that it is designed for a dusty environment Shane |
