HI

I just got a 75 natural strat that has some finish issues and sence so much s changed on teh guitar, routes and otherwise, I figured I would at least fix the finish issues. I would never mod an unaltered vintage piece.

Anyway, I wil try yo attach pics but, she has the yellowed poly finish which has worn off on the bass side of the neck so much the area is black - a bit on the treble too. There is a much more difficult issue on the back where the owner scratched his initials deep into and past the finish. One party mentioned using shellac, which I did on a small spot on the bass side of the neck near the neck pocket, but I guess I needed to prime the raw wood because that spot came in much lighter. Lacquer I can deal with. Can I do anything with this poly issue?
