I've intended for a long time to buy an air cleaner/filter for my "shop," which is an upstairs bedroom in my house. But it always gets put on the backburner in favor of tools that help me make sawdust. My shop room is about 12'x12' (or 3.65M x 3.65M) with an 8' (2.43M) ceiling, so it's not a real huge volume of air to clean.
The one I'm leaning towards is the
JDS 750-ER for $289 (-$50 off $250 holiday special Amazon is running). It seems to get consistently good reviews for the product and customer service, and comes with a remote which would be handy.
Other common ones I've seen:
Jet AFS-1000B - This one goes for $275, includes remote and seems to get positive reviews.
Delta 50-875 - Seems to be the competing product with the JDS, remote, timer, and 3-speeds for $249.
Delta AP-200 - Basic model, no remote/timer/multispeed but it's only $169.
Delta AP-100 - $169, comes with a worklight, but only goes to 5 microns instead of 1 micron like all the others. The portability of it might be nice, though I don't know if I'd ever move it around much. Reviews say it's pretty noisy, too.
I'm leaning towards the JDS, Jet, and the Delta 50-875, in that order. Does anyone have any experience with any of these models? Do they make a big difference in your shop? Any noise issues?
