Just read the Kinkead book and was intrigued by the way he glues the neck to the body first, trues the neck/upper body part and then glues the fingerboard. Obviously the neck and body are finished together, maybe a less neat fit and finish. |

This is another advantage of using a bole on neck. You attach the neck, make adjustments for proper neck geometry then remove the neck for finishing. I also glue the fingerboard to the neck after the neck is fitted to the body except the fingerboard extension which of course is glued or bolted after finishing. |

The fingerboard extension seems to be the problem for me, in terms of geometry. What radius should the top be so that I get a perfect neck angle and no hump at the neck/body joint. seems to be an issue too on certain neck resets, wedge, no wedge? |
