Hi everybody,

What do you folks do about squeeze-out clean up?

Any nifty tricks?

I'm about to Titebond my bridge to a F.P. soundboard and want a nice tidy result

I take a thinly tapered wedge of wood and moisten a soft paper towel, then I use the wedge to skirt around the bridge to scoop up the glue. Make sure to get the glue that may touch the sides of the bridge as well, as this will not be fun to remove when it is dry. Also keep doing this for about 5-10 minutes as there may be residual squeeze out as it is setting. Hope this helps, I would love to hear other peoples solutions. Old dog/new trick scenario.

Evan.

Do you cover the wooden wedge with the paper towel ,or use the towel to clean the wedge ?

I use a similiar method to Evan except I use baby wipes instead of the paper towel, I wrap one around the wedge.RussellR38700.7675810185

I use a plastic straw cut at an angle to scoop out the glue, then follow up with a damp (not wet) wash cloth and wipe it clean.

I wrap the wedge in the paper towel, and moisten it, just so it is slightly damp. Beleive it or not I found that Viva brand paper towels are the softest. I like Lance's straw technique as well, I have to try that.

I wait until the glue dries but is still soft (leathery consistency). At that point it just releases without any liquid residue and almost peels away.

Just a reminder that Lance is MR. CLEAN!    You should look at the pix he puts up of his boxes going together!

Why use glue when you can just use drywall screws through the braces to hold the bridge on. I only say this because I saw that once in my shop. Now I am not a drinking man but.....
